Sky Box Not Recording

If your recordings fail or you get an error message which says “Sky+ playback and recording unavailable”, again it’s usually nothing serious and a few simple steps could soon resolve the issue. Usually this is a problem with the HDD (hard drive) which can be easily resolved by doing a “planner rebuild” (which reorganises the files and folders on the hard drive and makes it run smoother).

Sky Not Recording? Try A Planner Rebuild for SKY+

  • Press ‘Services’ on the remote.
  • Press ‘4’ (System setup) Press ‘0’ then ‘1’ then select (This is the hidden menu)
  • Press ‘7’ for SKY+ Planner Rebuild
  • A message should appear saying ‘this will take a few minutes to complete’.
  • Wait 5 minutes and then record a programme for 30 minutes to see if it has worked.

Sky Not Recording? Try A Planner Rebuild for SKY+ HD

  • Press ‘services’ on the remote.
  • Press ‘right arrow’ to get to settings.
  • Press ‘down arrow’ to highlight ‘picture’ in yellow.
  • Press ‘0’ then ‘1’ then select (This is the hidden menu).
  • Scroll with ‘left arrow’ to the ‘Planner Rebuild’ tab and press select.
  • A message should appear saying ‘this will take a few minutes to complete’.
  • Wait 5 mins and then record a programme for 30 mins to see if it has worked.
